Friendship, tradition and a place to belong in Gosport
Choosing a lodge is about more than finding a meeting date that suits you. It is about meeting people, asking questions and discovering whether you would enjoy becoming part of its life.
Alwarestoch Lodge No. 7805 meets at Gosport Masonic Hall on Clarence Road. Founded in 1962, it brings together the traditions of Freemasonry with opportunities for friendship, learning and service.
Whether you are curious about joining or already a Freemason looking to visit, you are welcome to contact us.

What does a lodge evening involve?
A regular evening centres on the lodge meeting. Depending on the occasion, this may include lodge business, a ceremony or a talk that gives members an opportunity to learn and reflect.
Those who have booked to dine gather afterwards for the meal known as the Festive Board. This is the social part of the evening: time to talk, get to know people and enjoy one another’s company.
Formal meetings are for members and visiting Freemasons by prior arrangement. If you have not joined Freemasonry, your first step is an informal conversation rather than attending a formal meeting.

A commitment that fits your life
Alwarestoch holds seven regular meetings each year, on the second Wednesday of September, October, November, December, February, April and May.
There may also be rehearsals, visits and social occasions. Before applying, discuss the expected commitment with the Secretary so that you understand how membership would fit around your work, family and other responsibilities.
Taking time to decide is welcome.
You do not need to know anyone already
Many people begin with questions. You do not need a family connection, an invitation or an existing friendship with a Freemason to contact us.
An enquiry gives you the opportunity to ask about membership, costs, meetings and lodge life. It does not commit you to joining or guarantee membership.
Alwarestoch is a men’s lodge under the United Grand Lodge of England. Enquiries are welcome from men aged 18 and over, subject to its membership requirements, including belief in a Supreme Being.

Charity and community
Service is one of Freemasonry’s core values. Our charity pages and dated archive reports describe causes supported through the lodge’s history.
They also distinguish Alwarestoch’s own activity from the wider work of the Province and the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
