Alwarestoch Lodge · Gosport

Freemasonry in Hampshire & Isle of Wight

An introduction from one Gosport lodge within the Province, with routes to official information across the county and island.

One lodge within a wider Province

Alwarestoch Lodge No. 7805 is based in Gosport and belongs to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Hampshire & Isle of Wight under UGLE. This site describes our own lodge. The Province’s official website is the source for provincial news, organisation and information about other lodges.

The Province groups lodges into areas. Its Solent Area directory includes Alwarestoch alongside other Gosport lodges and lodges elsewhere in the area. Sharing a provincial connection does not mean all lodges have the same meeting schedule or membership costs.

Finding a lodge that suits you

Location and meeting day matter when choosing a lodge. Consider how regular evenings, possible rehearsals and travel fit around work and family. Speak with members before applying and ask for a clear account of subscriptions, joining charges and dining arrangements.

For Freemasonry in Gosport, explore our local guide and Alwarestoch’s membership page. For another part of Hampshire or the Isle of Wight, use the Province’s official website or UGLE’s joining service to begin an enquiry in your preferred area.

Alwarestoch’s place in Gosport

Our lodge was consecrated in 1962 and meets at Gosport Masonic Hall. We hold seven regular meetings each year: the second Wednesday of September, October, November, December, February, April and May. See our calendar and confirm arrangements before travelling.

Our lodge history and family tree describe our origins and connections. They are local records of Alwarestoch, rather than a complete history of Freemasonry across the Province.

Visiting from another lodge

Freemasons wishing to visit Alwarestoch should contact our Secretary through the visitors page. For a visit to another Hampshire or Isle of Wight lodge, contact that lodge directly. Meeting dates, admission and dining arrangements must be confirmed with the host.

Charity, fellowship and reliable information

Our charity page and news archive describe Alwarestoch’s activities. For the wider Province’s charitable work and events, consult its official website. We do not present another lodge’s work as our own or describe ourselves as representing all Hampshire Freemasons.
